The Octobots rolled through the Indianola High School Homecoming Parade on Thursday night, and the town showed up. Sidewalks were packed from one end of North 9th Street to the other.
Most of the team walked the route with our mascot, Robert, handing out candy and robot cards featuring Bob, last year’s robot. Behind us came the truck: side banners, giant purple tentacles reaching out of every window, and both of our previous robots, Bob and ELIE, riding in the back.
The best part was the reaction. Over and over we heard some version of “Indianola has a robotics team? That’s so cool.” Yes we do, and this is exactly why we come to events like this. If you grabbed a card, everything you need is on this site.
Want Robert and the robots at your event? We visit schools, clubs, and community events around Indianola. Invite us and we will do our best to be there.
Next up for the team: our first look at this year’s game at a scrimmage in Norwalk on October 31, then Daisy League play starts November 7. Every meet is free and open to the public. See the full schedule.
